Bauer Lite / Small Batch
Like the name suggests, our ‘Small Batches’ are small, limited batches created during various times in the injection mold process of Bauer™ Lite parts. The number of units per batch varies with each run and is determined by the colors involved, as different color combinations create more units than others. Each batch will consist of units that are all similar in color, however, every unit is unique and has a completely random pattern/color that is one-of-a-kind.
When you order a Bauer Lite Small Batch, we will ship the boards in the same order that they are purchased. Once a batch is sold out, it is gone forever. Every batch will be very limited and is first come, first serve.
To make it even more exciting, we here at Omnitype don't even know what combinations we are going to get until we open the box, once they arrive! It is truly a surprise for us! Once we receive the units, we create the best color combinations we can to offer unique and exciting colorways that are truly unique!

We are so proud of the small batch units of Bauer Lite, created during the resin color swaps on the injection mold machine. Each unit is a one-of-a-kind masterpiece, ensuring that no two keyboards are the same!
With each unit being unique, owning a small batch Bauer Lite keyboard means you have a truly one-of-a-kind piece. Whether you're a keyboard enthusiast, a collector, or simply someone who appreciates the beauty of individuality, these keyboards are sure to captivate your attention.
Each batch is labeled and will be very limited. Each board packaging will be hand numbered and will include an authentication card indicating the batch and board number you received.

Small Batches will have no photos listed before they are sold and will only have a description of the colorway next to the variant name. So it will be a mystery as to what you get until you open your box!
And we're also in on the mystery as we here at Omnitype don't even know what we are going to get until they arrive. It is truly a surprise for us as well! Once we receive the units, we curate the best color combinations to offer unique and exciting colorways that are truly one-of-a-kind!
All Bauer Lite Small Batches will be dropped in stock as first come, first serve. Drops will happen on Saturdays at 2PM Central Time as we have units available.
Sign up for the Bauer Lite newsletter to be notified. We will only notify the day before and not at the time of the drop because of the limited nature of these products.

Each Small Batch board will come with a handwritten sleeve and authentication card showing the date, batch #, board #, and the mixture of plastic transparency in the batch.

Breakaway backspace plate design
The Bauer Lite plate is designed to support both full and split-backspace options without the normal compromises of your switch being crooked from the lack of proper support. We achieved this with a unique breakaway plate design. By default, the plate supports split-backspace, but just break off the center support with some pliers to use full-backspace!

Limited to one unit per customer.
Small batch units are not made as final production units and are considered sample units. They may contain cosmetic issues such as, but not limited to scratches, dings, and specs. These units are made when swapped from one color to another on the injection molding machines and each unit is unique. Not two units are alike. Small batch units are not eligible for return or exchange for cosmetic issues. These units also include the other injection molded keyboard kit standards listed above.
Plastic parts are made via injection molding, which has the possibility to have small defects that include flow lines, weld lines, warping, sink marks, and jetting.
Switches, and stabilizers are not included.
The images shown are used for illustrative purposes only. While we aim to accurately estimate and reproduce colors, there may be minor variations in the color of the actual product because of differences in display output due to lighting and digital photography and color settings and capabilities of monitors.
Pictures just don't do this round justice, its so much more orange in person, but cameras make it look so yellow. I will definitely be bringing this to meets in the future.
If you are interested in the Bauer Lite as a non-beginner in the community I say go for a small batch... if you aren't going for a specific color to begin with. That being said Orange is a favorite color of mine (and you'll have to trust me here because small batch 3's color does not really come though on photos). The packaging of this board also punches above it's weight. Fun build and satisfying to have a unique board for a reasonable price.

I was happy with happening to get a blue-ish batch to match a set I had laying around... But considering the set I used and seeing photos of batch 4... The coincidental, retroactive trolling from Omnitype stings 😂
Excellent build quality, amazing and luxurious sound and feel! Simple to assemble and easy to personalize. Loved the small batch experience and the mystery of unboxing! Unique and thoughtful packaging and build guide!
Honestly love everything about the board from the packaging to build experience and sound and feel. Premium board at a great price point. Lucky to have copped a fully transparent one and SB1.

This board is great. So glad I was able to get in on Round 0. I love having a one-of-a-kind board from Omni-Type (Well, I guess it is technically a 1 out of 10). I would not hesitate to recommend the small batch keyboards from Omnitype to anyone!
For some context, I am the proud owner of entry and mid boards such as the Keychron Q1 Pro, Neo65 and Arc60. All of these boards are solid in their own right, but the experience of unboxing and assembling the Bauer Lite Batch 0 was truly inspiring. From the get go, the details on the box and the product card were authentic and handwritten, making me feel special as an owner. While making the board, the build guide was well organized and had many visuals to guide my next steps. Clearly a lot went into crafting both the board and its packaging. Because it is lightweight, I can see myself using the Bauer Lite as a daily driver. Great job Omnitype!
First of all for something so limited to only 10 units per batch, my expectations were high. Not to mention the fact that the “small batch” costs $30 more than the normal Bauer Lite, and advertised as being “one-of-a-kind masterpiece”and unique. Besides the unique packaging and the missing Omnitype logo printed on the back of the top enclosure, there is frankly nothing distinguishable from the normal Bauer Lite. To Omnitype’s defense, they do have a disclaimer that the units are not final products and are considered samples and may contain defects.
In Short:
- nice packaging/unboxing experience
- keyboard sounds nice and beginner friendly
- not the kind of “unique” I was expecting
This first batch of Small batches were the samples of what was supposed to be the original 1st Edition units and are not indicative of the future small batches that will feature the swirls and different colors. They are fully transparent with no texture on the mold, so they are different from the product units for syre. There are only a handful of units that exist like this that are fully transparent because the manufacturer did not make them like we thought they did before they textured the mold. So these can literally never be made like this again, even if we wanted to.
